Index description

The long grain rough rice futures contract is a CME commodity instrument used for hedging and speculation in the agricultural sector and serves as a global price benchmark with primary trading in the USA. In August 2026 the maximum reached 15.25 USD/hundredweight, the minimum was 13.92 USD/hundredweight and the average level stood at 14.39 USD/hundredweight. The price is based on continuous physically settled futures of rice No. 2 or better (milling yield ?65 %) delivered to CME-approved storage facilities.
