The index reflects the dynamics of the Indian stock market through the largest and most liquid companies included in its composition. It covers the top 100 companies traded on the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) and is denominated in Indian Rupees. The index is a basket of stocks reflecting the total capitalization and market trends in key sectors of the country's economy. The index calculation is based on the methodology of free float market capitalization.
