Index description

The Shanghai Containerized Freight Index reflects weighted average spot container freight rates from Shanghai to 13 major world ports and serves as a key indicator of China’s export container market. In August 2026 the maximum reached 3509.53 points, the minimum was 3276.14 points and the average stood at 3387.64 points. The index is calculated by the Shanghai Shipping Exchange.
