The Shanghai Containerized Freight Index reflects weighted average spot container freight rates from Shanghai to 13 major world ports and serves as a key indicator of China’s export container market. In September 2026 the maximum reached 3687.83 points, the minimum was 3590.05 points and the average stood at 3657.77 points. The index is calculated by the Shanghai Shipping Exchange.
