Index description

The Gold Volatility Index (GVZ) measures the expected 30-day volatility of gold prices based on options on the SPDR Gold Shares ETF and serves as an indicator of market sentiment in the precious metals market. In October 2026 the maximum reached 26.15 %, the minimum was 21.36 % and the average stood at 22.92 %. High GVZ values signal anticipated elevated price volatility in gold.
