Index description

Methanol (CZCE) is a commodity futures contract on methyl alcohol with delivery to warehouses designated by the CZCE exchange and serves as a hedging instrument in China’s chemical and energy industries. In August 2026 the maximum reached 2983.00 CNY/tonne, the minimum was 2478.00 CNY/tonne, and the average level stood at 2718.90 CNY/tonne. The price represents futures with physical delivery of methyl alcohol at a warehouse designated by CZCE.
