The index reflects a continuous futures contract on hot-rolled steel used to assess the market value of the material in metallurgy and construction; the USA is the primary trading region and pricing standard on the CME. In 2026-08 the maximum was 1226.00 USD/ton, the minimum — 1172.00 USD/ton, the average level — 1202.14 USD/ton. The index is based on the U.S. Hot Rolled Steel Price Index (CRU) with CME delivery terms.
