Index description

The index represents the spot price for iron ore fines with 62% Fe content imported into China and serves as a key indicator of global raw-material prices for the metallurgical industry; China is the leading importer. In 2026 the maximum was 108.60 USD/ton, the minimum — 98.20 USD/ton, the average level — 102.85 USD/ton. The index is based on World Bank data for CFR China spot prices beginning December 2008.
