Index description

The Beef (World Bank) index represents the price of New Zealand 90 % chemical lean beef imported into the US and serves as a global benchmark for the meat market. In 2026 the maximum reached 8.21 USD/kg, the minimum was 7.31 USD/kg, with an average level of 7.82 USD/kg. From January 2024 the index reflects New Zealand 90 % chemical lean beef, c.i.f. US.
