The index reflects the dynamics of the Brazilian stock market based on a basket of stocks of large and medium-sized companies. It is calculated for stocks traded on Brazilian exchanges and denominated in Brazilian reais. The index is a market capitalization-weighted indicator covering key sectors of the Brazilian economy. The calculation methodology includes a regular review of the basket composition to reflect the current market structure.
