Index description

The Coal, export price (IMF) index represents the average export price for thermal coal and is used for analysing global energy supplies, where the Richards Bay region in South Africa is the primary hub. In 2026 the maximum reached 117.95 USD/ton, the minimum was 81.66 USD/ton, and the average level stood at 93.01 USD/ton. The index serves as a price reference for international coal exports.
