Index description

The Coal (Netherlands) futures contract is based on API2 CIF ARA coal and serves as a price indicator for thermal coal in the European energy sector, where the Netherlands is a key import hub for Europe. In July 2026 the maximum reached 122.40 USD/ton, the minimum was 118.00 USD/ton, and the average level stood at 119.85 USD/ton. The futures acts as a price reference for the regional market.
