The index reflects the amount of assets (liabilities) of the Reserve Bank of Australia at current prices, not seasonally adjusted. Since the launch of the asset repurchase program in March 2020, the bulk of assets have been securities that the Bank buys in its portfolio. Information about its securities is available on the page https://cbonds.com/company/29287/ This was the reason for the growth of the balance. The buyback program was completed in October 2021.
