Index description

The World Bank Cotton A Index is a global price benchmark for middling quality cotton, used to monitor market trends in the textile and agricultural sectors with primary trading in the Far East. In 2026 the maximum reached 2.03 USD/kg, the minimum was 1.63 USD/kg, and the average level stood at 1.78 USD/kg. The index is based on middling 1-3/32 inch cotton traded in the Far East on C/F terms.
