RegisterPersonal Consumption Expenditures, also known as the PCE deflator, is an index that tracks price increases across a wide range of goods and services that are consumed by American consumers. Personal consumption spending is an important component of US GDP. The growth of this index reflects inflation of personal consumption and is used by the Federal Open Market Committee of the US Federal Reserve in its decisions on monetary policy. The personal consumption expenditure price index should not be confused with the consumer inflation data published by BLS and calculated using a different method. 2012 is the base year (index equals 100), the source uses seasonal adjustment.
