The U3O8 uranium futures contract serves as the underlying asset on CME and a key price benchmark for the global nuclear fuel market with major producers in Kazakhstan, Canada and Australia. In July 2026 the maximum reached 86.60 USD/lb, the minimum was 85.15 USD/lb and the average level stood at 85.80 USD/lb. The index price is calculated on the basis of continuous financially settled futures on triuranium octoxide U3O8.
