The U3O8 uranium futures contract is a benchmark instrument traded on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) and serves as a key price reference for the global nuclear fuel market with major producers in Kazakhstan, Canada and Australia. In May 2026 the maximum reached 86.55 USD/lb, the minimum was 84.50 USD/lb and the average level stood at 85.62 USD/lb. The index price is calculated on the basis of continuous financially settled futures on triuranium octoxide U3O8.
