Index description

Bishkek Interbank Rate (BIR) is the benchmark interbank interest rate of the Kyrgyz Republic and reflects the market cost of short-term liquidity in the interbank money market. The rate is calculated as the volume-weighted average interest rate on actual 7-day repo transactions denominated in the national currency and concluded between commercial banks. The rate is published on each business day and reflects transactions executed on the preceding business day.
