US Prime Rate is an interest rate used by FRS at which it lends to favoured customers. US Prime Rate runs approximately 300 basis points (or 3 percentage points) above the Federal Funds Rate. The prime rate is an interest rate determined by individual banks. It is often used as a reference rate for many types of loans, including loans to small businesses and credit card loans. The rate is presented with a lag of 1 day.
