Index description

Butter futures are traded on the European Energy Exchange, enabling producers and consumers to hedge price risks in the dairy industry. In September 2026, the maximum reached 4475.00 EUR/tonne, the minimum was 4175.00 EUR/tonne, and the average level stood at 4298.86 EUR/tonne. India remains the world’s largest butter producer, followed by the US and New Zealand.
