Andorra's central government debt burden remains in line with the 'A' rating median, although increasing quite rapidly. Central government debt is estimated at 36% of GDP this year against 16% in 2007. Andorra's five year, €260 million Eurobond matured in December 2009 and this amount has been rolled-over with the domestic banks until 2013. A further €360 million in short-term debt was outstanding with the domestic banks at the end of 2009. The government's debt management strategy could involve the issuance of a bond for domestic consumption in 2010. The local banks would likely be the main investors in this security.
