Mikhail Gennadyevich Zingarevich is a Russian entrepreneur, member of the Board of Directors of OJSC Ilim Group, President of Plaza Lotus Group, Honorary Professor of the Higher School of Technology and Energy of the St. Petersburg University of Industrial Technologies and Design. Zingarevich was born and grew up in the city of Segezha of the Karelian ASSR (now the Republic of Karelia) in a family of teachers, his father Gennady Zakharovich headed the mathematical school at the city school No. 1. Mikhail has a twin brother Boris. In 1981, Mikhail Zingarevich graduated from the Leningrad Technological Institute of the Pulp and Paper Industry with a degree in "Machines and apparatuses of the Pulp and Paper Industry". Before the collapse of the USSR, from 1981 to 1991, Mikhail Zingarevich held various engineering positions at enterprises of the timber industry, including the Segezha Central Processing Plant and the Izmail Central Processing Plant. In 1991, Mikhail headed the sales department of Technoferm LLP, where he created a supply chain for the export of pulp and paper products. In 1992, with a group of like-minded people, he founded the timber company "Ilim Pulp Enterprise", reorganized in 1996 into CJSC "Ilim Pulp Enterprise", where, as director of marketing and logistics of the company, he organized a system of shipments, logistics and sales in Eastern and Western Europe. Ilim Pulp Enterprise (currently Ilim Group) is the leading company in terms of output in the pulp and paper and woodworking industries of Russia.
