Boris Gennadyevich Zingarevich is a major Russian entrepreneur, billionaire, member of the Board of directors of the Ilim Group. As of 2019, he is among the 200 wealthiest businessmen in Russia. Zingarevich is an honorary professor of the St. Petersburg State Technological University of Plant Polymers. Boris Gennadievich Zingarevich was born in the city of Segezha, Republic of Karelia. In 1981 he graduated from the Leningrad Technological Institute of Pulp and Paper Industry. He worked as a mechanic at the Kondopozhsky Pulp and Paper Mill, then as a shop foreman and head of production at the Leningrad Cardboard Factory, the trade union committee of which he also headed in 1985. In the 1990s, together with his brother Mikhail, he founded the Technofarm company. He was engaged in the sale of goods made of paper and cardboard, including the export. In 2001, he became a shareholder of Ener1, a company producing lithium-ion batteries. Together with his brother Mikhail and comrade Zakhar Smushkin, he founded CJSC Ilim Pulp Enterprise. The main activity is connected with the Ilim Group and the Ilim Timber Holding, working in the timber industry.
