On January 21, 2011, British Airways Plc (British Airways) and Iberia Lineas Aereas de Espana S.A. Operadora (Iberia) merged and formed the Company. The Company operates in two segments: British Airways and Iberia. As of December 31, 2011, it had 348 aircraft flying to 200 destinations. The Company serves its markets in North America, Latin America, Asia and Africa from two of Europe’s long-haul hubs, London Heathrow and Madrid Barajas. During the year ended December 31, 2011, it launched Avios, a new shared currency for IAG’s three brands, British airways executive Club, Iberia Plus and Avios. On June 1, 2012, the Company sold Bmi regional to Sector Aviation Holdings Ltd.
