The People's Republic of China (PRC) is a county in Asia, bordered by 14 countries including Vietnam, Laos, India, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Russia, Mongolia, North Korea and others. The total area of China is 9 600 000 square kilometers. The capital of the country is Beijing. The currency unit is the Renminbi (RMB), also referred to as Yuan (CNY) on the China onshore market. The Renminbi is also traded on the Chinese offshore market with unofficial currency code CNH. The main sectors of the country’s economy are manufacturing, trade and retail, mining, and heavy industry.

China government bonds, also referred to as China sovereign bonds, include Treasury Discount Bonds, Treasury Saving Bonds, and Treasury Coupon Bonds. China Treasury Bonds are usually placed on the stock exchanges and on the National Interbank Bond Market. The public sector of China bond market also includes short-term and long-term debt instruments of People’s Bank of China and municipal governments’ bonds.

Chinese bond market also includes Policy Bank Bonds. Policy Bank Bonds are issued by China Development Bank, Agricultural Development Bank of China, and The Export-Import Bank of China.
