Profile

Inversiones La Construccion S.A. (ILC) is a Chile-based holding company engaged in the provision of pension and insurance services. The company operates, along with its subsidiaries, in three business segments: retirement and insurance; healthcare; and a segment focused on investments in a range of real estate and tradable securities, such as stocks, bonds, mutual funds, savings and capitalization plans. ILC controls the country's second biggest pension fund manager AFP Habitat S.A., private health insurer Consalud S.A. and insurance companies CorpSeguros S.A. and CorpVida S.A. A deal was announced last year in which US financial services giant Prudential will jointly own Habitat with ILC. Habitat became the first Chilean pension fund manager to expand abroad in 2012. In addition, ILC signed an MOU with Baninter S.A., controller of local lender Banco Internacional, to acquire a 50.1% stake in the bank. Lastly, ILC has smaller investments in Chile's education and IT sectors. ILC is controlled by Chile's construction chamber, Camara Chilena de la Construccion AG.
