In 1968, the construction of the Cheboksary Instrument-making Plant began. On February 9, 1970, the Cheboksary Instrument-Making Plant was put into operation. In 1993, the plant was transformed into JSC Cheboksary Instrument-Making Plant ELARA. Since the beginning of the 1990s, the company has started to develop the production of civilian products: automotive electronics, banking equipment, products for thermal power engineering, electronic navigation equipment and communications. At the moment, ELARA products are widely represented on the civilian market. The priority areas of production are railway equipment, industrial electronics, automotive electronics, contract production of electronics. Customers of high-tech products are such large organizations as JSC "Russian Railways", "GAZ Group", PJSC "KAMAZ". The production level of JSC "ELARA" is confirmed by certificates ISO 9001:2015, IATF 16949:2016 and ISO/TS 22163:2017.
