Vehbi Koc Foundation is one of the first charitable foundations of the Republic of Turkey, was founded on January 17, 1969 by Vehbi Koc in order to revive the tradition of foundation creation, rooted in the distant past, but sunk into oblivion in Turkey. The Foundation has started to carry out extensive activities in the field of education, health and culture, which are among the basic life requirements of modern and developing Turkey, and since its foundation has been a model for philanthropists. Vehbi Koch founded many institutions, such as schools, dormitories, libraries and clinics, and handed them over to the relevant state institutions. This paved the way by first creating educational, medical and cultural institutions and then managing them on a non-profit basis. In order to create equal opportunities, the foundation has provided scholarships to thousands of talented young people who have limited financial opportunities. Through the institutions managed by the foundation in the fields of education, health and culture, with the projects it supports and the regular programs it implements, Vehbi Koc Foundation strives to contribute to the rapid development of Turkey.
