The company sells its products under the brand names of Jimmy Dean, Ball Park, Hillshire Farm, State Fair, Van’s, Sara Lee, and Chef Pierre, as well as artisanal brands comprising Aidells, Gallo Salame, and Golden Island Jerky. It serves supermarkets, warehouse clubs, and national chains, as well as foodservice customers, such as distributors, restaurants, hospitals, and other large institutions. The company was formerly known as Sara Lee Corporation and changed its name to The Hillshire Brands Company in June 2012. The Hillshire Brands Company was founded in 1939 and is headquartered in Downers Grove, Illinois.
