The Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia is a unified centralized system, which serves as the main regulator of the entire Armenian financial market. The Central Bank is a legal entity, the sole founder of which is the Republic of Armenia. The main functions of the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia are as follows:
• regulation and supervision of the financial system;
• maintaining the financial stability;
• ensuring price stability;
• issue of cash and arranging cash circulation;
• management of international reserves of Armenia.

The status, objectives, functions and powers, as well as relations of the Central Bank with other banks and state authorities of the Republic of Armenia are defined by Law On the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia dated June 30, 1996.
