The company is owned by Irishman Denis O'Brien, is incorporated in Bermuda, and based in Jamaica. It provides mobile services in 26 countries and territories throughout the Caribbean and Central America with more than six million wireless users. Meanwhile its sister operation Digicel Pacific to date (Jan 2008) operates in five markets in the South Pacific (Samoa, Papua New Guinea, Tonga, Vanuatu and Fiji). The company's largest competitor in the Caribbean region is LIME's bmobile brand.
