Founded in 1993 at the initiative of and with active assistance from the Government of Moscow and the regional branch of the Federal Securities Commission of Russia, OAO Moscow Securities Center was one of the pioneers of the modern Russian securities market.
The MSC has been closely involved in the implementation of an integrated program for the development of Moscow’s corporate securities market since 1997, becoming a pilot project for a chain of retail securities trading outlets. The Moscow Securities Center’s technology has developed in lockstep with the maturing of Russia’s securities market as well as its instruments and methodology. The MSC was among the first companies to offer online brokerage services in Russia.
Throughout most of its history, the Moscow Securities Center was part of some of Russia’s major financial groups, first OLMA and then Antanta Capital. Since 2009, the MSC has been operating as an independent company. Management owns a controlling stake.
The Moscow Securities Center obtained a securities management license in September of 2010, which allowed us to tap the asset management market for the first time and start implementing our unique investment strategies based on statistical physics and advanced mathematical methods, which help us achieve stable returns on investment.
In 2011, the MSC attracted a strategic investor, which has allowed our company to graduate to a new phase of development primarily involving knowledge-intensive securities market operations. At the same time, the MSC hasn’t abandoned the task its team set for itself at inception, that of fostering financial culture and putting the securities market within the reach of as wide an audience as possible.
