Daily Insight: Public debt update; Liquidity rises; City of Kiev offering; UAH steady with high trading activity
On Friday, the MoF published a monthly report on the stock of public debt as of the end of October. Its total size, comprising direct and guaranteed debt, amounted to UAH493bn, down 0.6% from the previous month. Direct debt was on the decline by 0.7% in the month and was at UAH392bn. At the same time, guaranteed debt remained flat at UAH101bn. As a share of GDP, total public debt stood at 35.1% at the end of the reported month, whereas the direct part of total debt was 27.9% and guaranteed was 7.2%.
