Steelmakers to raise output by 3-9% in 2012; gov\'t bond auction preview
Economics: Ukrainian steelmakers plan to raise output by 3-9% YoY in 2012
According to UAVtormet data, Ukrainian steelmakers plan to increase their steel output by 3-9% YoY in 2012, as reported by Interfax Ukraine. In particular, of the top five Ukrainian steel mills in terms of 2011 production, ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih plans to ramp up its steel output by 3.5% YoY to 5.9mt; Mariupol Illich Steel by 4.3% YoY to 6.4mt; Azovstal by 4.7% YoY to 5.9mt; Alchevsk Steel by 4.7% YoY to 3.9mt; and Zaporizhstal by 3.6% YoY to 4mt. In 5M12, Ukrainian steel production slipped 4.4% YoY, to 14mt, as reported by UGMK.info.
