Daily Insight-NBU\'s 2Q11 real GDP estimates; Landkom news; UAH state bond ownership update
Landkom International (LKI LN, NR, US$0.116), the Ukrainian producer of agricultural commodities, has completed its harvest in Southern Ukraine, the company reported in its press release on July 28. The winter barley yield for the south was up 110% to 4.03 tonnes/ha, and the winter wheat yield rose 50% to 3.23 tonnes/ha. Landkom reports it farmed 4,382ha of winter wheat (+2.5x YoY) and 535ha of winter barley (-9% YoY). Another 1,648ha with sunflower and soy are to be harvested in the company\'s southern operations over the next few weeks, and its harvesting campaign in the West is currently underway. To date, Landkom has already harvested 65% of winter rapeseed, 15% of winter wheat, and 5.3 tonnes of winter barley in the West from 1,352ha (yielding 3.93 tonnes/ha). The company reported that 7% of the rapeseed crop was damaged by excessive rainfalls in the West.
