Daily Insight-In the spotlight: steps on improving regulatory environment
Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych signed two laws, adopted by the parliament in October, aimed at improving the regulatory environment for conducting business in Ukraine. One law legitimizes online registration of new businesses by both physical and legal persons, beginning nine months from the law\\\'s publication. Another law introduces a \\\"single-office\\\" principle for registration of foreign investment projects in Ukraine. Going forward, an investor will submit all documents for registering an investment project to a single office which will then coordinate submission to other state registration agencies and return the completed documentation to the investor. This centralization is expected to streamline project approvals, and save investors time from navigating through the obscure regulatory system of Ukraine.
