Daily Insight-In the spotlight: banks\' losses in 9M10; Ferrexpo reports 10M10 pellet output
According to the data released by the National Bank yesterday, 41 banks operating in Ukraine showed losses in 9M10, while at the beginning of 2010, 63 of 179 banks in Ukraine were loss-making. As a result, net losses of the banking system totaled UAH10bn (US$1.26bn), which was 2x lower than in 9M09 (UAH20.94bn, or US$2.64bn). The volume of banks\' net losses has been falling from quarter to quarter in 2010, as evidence of gradual improvement of the banking system\'s health in Ukraine.
