Daily Insight-BoP cumulative surplus up 89% YoY in Sept.; government bond auction results
Ukraine\'s balance of payments (BoP) formed with a considerable surplus of US$1.2bn in September, due to inflows on financial accounts, while the current account remained in negative territory. In 9M10, the surplus of the BoP reached US$7.3bn, whereas in 9M09 it showed a deficit of US$11.3bn. The cumulative 12-month BoP surplus continued increasing, reaching US$6.6bn in September, versus US$3.5bn in August. As a result, the central bank\'s foreign reserves grew to US$34.7bn as of 1 October 1 (and have continued growing since), which covered 5.8 months of future imports at the time.
