Daily Insight-June industrial production slows YoY, retail grows; grain harvest forecast in spotlight
Industrial production slowed down in June to 8.9% YoY, compared with 12.7% in May, 17.4% in April, and 13.8% in March, according to the data released by the State Statistics Committee of Ukraine yesterday. For 1H10, however, industrial production growth stood at 12%, which is only a marginal decline from the 5M10 and 4M10 industrial growth rates, both standing at 12.6%. On a MoM basis, the industrial decline equaled 0.5%. These figures, however, are still a serious improvement over last year\'s recessionary trends, when the country\'s industry fell 21.9% during the year, and 31% in 1H10 alone.
