Kazakhstan Electricity Grid Operating Company (KEGOC) was established in accordance with Decree No.1188 of the Government of Kazakhstan dated 28 September 1996 'On some measures to restructure power system management in Kazakhstan'. The company is engaged in the provision of system services for the transmission of electric energy over the national electrical grid, the maintenance of equipment for the National Electric Grid, the provision of system services for the technical dispatching of supply to the grid and the consumption of electrical energy.
