JSCB “Spurt” (JSC) was established in December 1992 as a bank targeted mainly at the work with small-scale and middle-scale business. In 1998, CJSC “Tatgazinvest”, regional operator of OJSC “Gazprom” for gas realization, became the major share-holder of the Bank. Later “Spurt Bank”, being the main accounting bank of “Tatgazinvest”, obtained the status of authorized bank of OJSC “Gazprom” in the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan.
Further extension of the Bank’s shareholders and development of its client base took place first of all due to the largest petrochemical enterprises of the Republic of Tatarstan, such as OJSC “Nizhnekamskneftekhim”, OJSC “Kazanorgsintez”, OJSC “Kazan Synthetic Rubber Plant”. Currently approved bank development program provides the further growth of its client base at the expense of large corporations and small-scale and middle-scale enterprises of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Volga Federal District.
In May 2007 the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development has joined the list of our shareholders – its share is now 28.25%. This is a logical stage of EBRD’s strategy of developing regional banks and the cooperation between the EBRD and Spurt Bank which has begun in 2005. Nowadays this cooperation goes on in the sphere of small and medium business financing, loans for energy saving technologies implementation. /03,2011
