The Volgograd region is located in the southeast of the European part of the country and borders on the Saratov, Voronezh, Rostov, Astrakhan regions, Kalmykia and Kazakhstan. A significant number of various minerals are concentrated in the region. Oil, natural gas, bischofite, phosphate rock, salt, mortar, mineral water are explored and produced. The region belongs to the old oil producing regions with a relatively high development of oil resources.
The financial authority of the subject is the Finance Committee of the Volgograd Region, which carries out the development of the draft regional budget, provides leadership in the field of budget planning, and also manages the state debt of the region.
