The Leningrad Region borders on five constituent entities of the Russian Federation: St. Petersburg (a city of federal significance), the Republic of Karelia, the Vologda Region, Novgorod Region, Pskov Region, as well as two states: the Republic of Finland and the Republic of Estonia.
The financial authority of the region is the Committee of Finance of Leningrad Region, which ensures the formation and implementation of a unified state financial, tax and budget policy in the Leningrad Region, the preparation of the draft regional budget and the organization of budget execution, executive and administrative functions of financial management of the Leningrad Region and coordination of activities in the field of budget relations executive authorities of the region.
