The company offers exchange telecommunication services for the transmission of telecommunications among customers located within a local calling area. Its exchange telecommunication services include switched local residential and business services, local private line voice and data services, and centrex services, as well as toll services. The company also provides exchange access services, such as switched access and special access services that link a customer's premises and the transmission facilities of other telecommunications carriers. In addition, it offers fiber-to-the-premises services under the FiOS service mark for residential and small business subscribers. The company was formerly known as GTE California, Inc and changed its name to Verizon California, Inc in June 2000. Verizon California, Inc. is based in New York, New York. As of April 1, 2016, Frontier California, Inc. operates as a subsidiary of Frontier Communications Corporation.
