Russia’s Finance Ministry does not coordinate the scheduling of Eurobond placement with capital amnesty, Deputy Minister Sergei Storchak said on Thursday on the sidelines of an investment forum.
“No, there is no coordination. I also can’t imagine how that could be,” Storchak said.
The ministry plans to place U.S. $3 billion Eurobonds in 2018 and will accept bids from domestic and foreign investors.
The amnesty will be in force from March 1, 2018 through February 28, 2019 and will allow Russians to declare their foreign assets, avoid tax avoidance claims, and start paying taxes in Russia.
Storchak said that the ministry has already evaluated potential organizers of the placement and is yet to decide how many organizers it wants to be involved.
