Russian cbank to issue new OBR bonds in November

The Russian central bank plans to issue new OBR bonds in November, and the amount can slightly exceed the previous issue, Chairwoman Elvira Nabiullina said at a news conference on Friday. “We plan to place a new issue of OBR bonds in November, it will likely mainly replace the volume of the previous (month), maybe will be slightly higher,” Nabiullina said. The central bank placed its first issue of coupon OBR bonds for 150 billion rubles in August, with a maturity in November. The authority said that the use of OBR bonds is planned for the period of a structural liquidity surplus in the banking sector.
