Ukraine is launching the sale of Series B US$ treasury bonds (KO) on November 30. On the first placement day the securities will be sold at par ($500). The issue amount is $100m.

Decree # 1207 of the Finance Ministry as of 20 November 2012 stipulates the placement price hike to $521 on November 1; then it will increase by $1 every 9 days before the first coupon payment. Coupons are semi-annual.

The Finance Ministry started selling Series A treasury bonds worth $100m to individuals on October 10. The issue matures in 24 months.

As of mid-November Ukrainians bought $94m in treasury bonds, according to the Finance Ministry.
Series B treasury bonds must be launched after Series A bonds are sold out, according to issue terms. Yield on Series B bonds was cut to 8% compared to 9.2% on Series A bonds.

Experts say that it is easier and more lucrative to buy treasury bonds than opt for bank deposits. You can buy then in the equivalent of up to UAH 150,000 without any documents.
