Ratings On Five Russian Telecom Operators Withdrawn After Merger Into Rostelecom

• The process of merging seven Russian regional telecommunications operators into Rostelecom has been completed. The regional operators have ceased to exist as separate legal entities. • We are consequently withdrawing the ratings on the telecommunications operators North-West Telecom, VolgaTelecom, Central Telecommunications Co., Uralsvyazinform, and Southern Telecommunications Co., as well as related debt ratings. FRANKFURT (Standard & Poor's) April 1, 2011--Standard & Poor's Ratings Services said today it withdrew all its ratings on five Russian telecommunications operators, namely North-West Telecom (JSC), VolgaTelecom (OJSC), Central Telecommunications Co. (OJSC), Uralsvyazinform (OJSC), and Southern Telecommunications Co. (OJSC), as well as related debt ratings. The entities have been merged into OJSC Rostelecom (BB/Stable/--) and have ceased to exist as separate legal entities. |
