Russia posts budget surplus

Russia's primary budget surplus amounted to nearly RUB 1.925 trillion (approx. USD 79.09bn) in 2007, the Russian Finance Ministry reported today. Cash budget surplus reached roughly RUB 1.782 trillion (approx. USD 73.21bn). Federal budget revenue stood at roughly RUB 7.765 trillion (approx. USD 319.02bn), or 104.3 percent of the target for 2007. Budget spending totaled some RUB 6.132 trillion (approx. USD 251.93bn), or 93.8 percent of the target figure, with cash budget spending of about RUB 5.982 trillion (approx. USD 245.76bn), or 91.5 percent of the target.

The Federal Tax Service transferred to the federal budget nearly RUB 3.740 trillion (approx. USD 153.66bn), or 101.9 percent of the approved target for 2007. The Federal Customs Service transferred RUB 3.247 trillion (approx. USD 133.40bn), or 101.9 percent of the approved target.
