|We are delighted to announce that Cbonds has fully covered government short-term bonds (T-Bills). We added all the markets of such securities for the following regions: Asia, Australia, Middle East, Eastern and Western Europe, North and South America.

Total number of T-Bills in the Cbonds base is over 3,200 issues, with a total volume of outstanding securities equivalent to USD 4.614 trn. The world top issuer of the short-term bonds is the United States of America. The U.S. government debt issued in T-Bills makes 50% of the global volume of the government short-term bonds. Japan and the Czech Republic take the second and the third places, with 16.9% and 3.7% respectively. Top 10 countries-issuers of the short-term bonds are shown in the chart below:
In terms of the number of issues of short-term discount bonds, the top 3 countries were: Gambia with 159 issues, Seychelles – 113 issues and the third place was shared by India and Kenya with 91 issues over the past year. The indicators of the top 10 can be found on the chart below:
The Bills market is the most popular government securities market. This is a result of the high liquidity in the secondary market, the frequent placement of new issues, the short maturity, the availability to a wide range of investors and the non-taxable income in some countries.
